Eoin Murphy Paul Murphy, Michael Walsh, Brian Kennedy Paudie Gahan, Kieran Joyce, Cillian Buckley Conor Fogarty, Padraig Walsh Richie Power, Richie Hogan, Kevin Kelly John Power, Mark Kelly, Walter Walsh
That's a young side but still with a good bit of experience throughout the side, physically powerful through the middle, and most of all experimental but have the ability to do a job down there and get a good start
Don't think there's much point in starting the likes of Tyrrell or Larkin in the earlier rounds of the league, we know what they bring and we'll learn nothing new. I think myself we should use the league to really strengthen the panel, and if that means playing experimental sides in every game, then so be it, even if it means flirting with relegation.

I would think we will see Joyce at FB for the championship so I would hope that he will get as many games as possible at FB in the league as this is a position he will need to get used to at this level. I'm all for experimentation but FB is our real Achilles heel. I would like to see M Walsh get a go or possibly Willie Phelan given a last chance to impress in his natural habitat, but I do think Joyce will get the nod in the summer so I'd like to see him get the majority of the league games there.
My team V Cork
E Murphy P Murphy, K Joyce, B Kennedy C Fogarty, C Buckley, P Gahan P Walsh, R Hogan K Kelly , K Hogan, E Larkin G Aylward, R Power, W Walsh
Either way it'll be interesting, we have a great team with all the Ballyhale lads to come back but we all know we have to find a few options at FB. On the FB issue the Boro have the immensely impressive Evan Cody coming through he still has a ways to go but the most impressive lad I've seen play there for a while, he's only turned 19 as far as I know but he could be a real contender in a few years time provided he doesn't go astray.

Ger is in oz as far as I know, also don't think chris bolder is called in,i agree that Joe Lyng will get game time and also could see willie phelan play further out the field he impressed midfield against wexford midfield last year in intermediate, ideally I'd like to see Paul murphy full back in the summer with holden/Kennedy corner back and Joyce center back

I hadn't heard Ger had gone, hopefully it's not a permanent move but good luck to him if it is.

Joe Lyng is worth a shot was a very good underage hurler. hope Kevin Kelly hurls as well at senior as he did as a minor if he gets a run, Kieran Joyce or Willie Phelan will be fulback in 2015, i wouldn't take Paul Murphy out of corner back . big year also for Walter Walsh i hope he gets his 2012 form back this year but his young enough.whats the story with Micheal Rice and Richie Doyle will either see action for kilkenny this year.

I heard R Doyles hoped for cure is not a runner at the moment, as he apparently said himself he has the hips of an 80 year old. It's very sad for a lad who had such potential and lived for hurling. Rice is not fully ready yet from what I've heard.

We are struggling for numbers in training at the minute with a raft of lads called in last week. I would expect most not to last but it's a great opportunity for lads who are serious. The only name I know for sure is Evan Cody from my own club (Boro) he's a very good FB just turned nineteen. He's probably a bit young yet but is a fine size for his age. His U21 performances must have impressed Cody cause they definitely impressed anyone else who saw him. With all the retirements, Ballyhale and Bennettsbridge still hurling, lads hurling for colleges a few injuries we currently have a very depleted squad and hence the mass call up. There shouldn't be too many issues once club and college is over but we could struggle big time in the opening few games.

I also know for sure from my own club that Ger Malone and Paudie Gahan from Mullinavat have been called in. Tom Aylward hasnt which is a bit of a surprise considering the problematic full back position

Was also told from a very reliable source that Henry Shefflin will call it a day next Saturday after the Ballyhale game.
